Traditional singing is being celebrated in Sligo this weekend.

The occasion is the 11th annual Frank Finn Traditional Singing Festival organised by the Sligo Traditional Singers Circle.

It will continue until today in Rosses Point and on nearby Coney Island after beginning on Friday.

A competition for singers Under 18 takes place today, the prize being the Frank Finn Perpetual Cup.

The festival is called after the late Frank Finn, a native of Ragwood, Gurteen, in South Sligo, whose passion was traditional singing.
