School in Sligo urges ‘family-centred’ Junior Cert celebrations



With more than 3,600 Junior Cert pupils in the north west getting their exam results today, schools throughout the region say they want those celebrating tonight to be stay safe and act sensibly.

It comes amid increasing concern about the use of alcohol, including among teenagers who are under the legal drinking age.

Over 2400 students in county Donegal, over 700 in county Sligo and 480 pupils in county Leitrim sat the exams.
