Tidy Towns disappointed with today’s litter survey



Sligo Tidy Towns are disappointed with today’s results in the Businesses Against Litter survey.

The survey which is carried out annually by the national group shows that Sligo town has dropped 9 points from the previous survey.

Meanwhile, Letterkenny improved it’s position to 25th place in the league table that’s 6 places ahead of Sligo.

IBAL says that a recycling unit on Connaughton road and an empty unit in the Cleveragh retail park brought down Sligo’s overall result.

However, Conor Horgan of IBAL says it’s still a good result for Sligo and Letterkenny which are still both deemed ‘Clean to European Norms’:
