Ballyshannon man flooded two years ago says knock-on impacts are lasting



A Donegal poultry farmer who lost 4,000 hens due to flooding two years ago says the trauma of what happens in such situations goes on for years after.

Hugh John Patton, of Castle Free Range Eggs, near Ballyshannon, suffered the losses when his buisness was washed out.

However, he says this was only the initial affect.

Later, about 1,500 hens died from stress while other problems were also discovered as time went on.

Mr Patton says that even today, he has contractors in to do work arisng from what happened.
