40 homeless people in north west, according to CSO



There are 40 homeless people in the north west, according to the latest Census figures.

The number is made up of 31 males and 9 females.

The figures are for the number of persons who were either sleeping rough or in accommodation for the homeless on Census night, which was April 24th 2016.

The most recent figures are not broken down for each county.

Overall in the country, the average age of a homeless person is just over 30 years.

It’s almost 27 years for women and over 33 for men.

Among the more than 5,200 homeless people aged 15 and over in the country, more than 55% were single.

Among those homeless, more than 1,700 were listed as children in families.
