20 patients on trolleys in hospitals in the region today



281 people are on trolleys at hospitals across the country today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation – University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 36 people in need of a bed.

Naas General Hospital is next with 28 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.

Locally, there are 20 people on trolleys in the region. There are three people waiting for a bed in Sligo University Hospital, while in Letterkenny University Hospital, there is currently nobody waiting on a bed.

In University College Hospital Galway, there are currently seventeen people on trolleys.
