€1.7m for eight new houses for the disadvantaged in Ballymote



Local politicians are welcoming the allocation of €1.7m for a new housing project in Ballymote in county Sligo.

The money will go towards building eight new houses at Cuan Iosa, close to the train station and the historic Ballymote Castle.

It’s being made available under a scheme that provides accommodation — generally one or two-bedroom units — to meet special needs, such as those of the elderly, disabled or disadvantaged.

Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael Deputy Tony McLoughlin is welcoming the allocation for this accommodation which is being provided in conjunction with the St Vincent de Paul Society:
