Vice President of the United States Mike Pence could make a trip to Sligo during his term in office.
That’s according to the Deputy Chief of Mission with the US Embassy in Ireland Aleisha Woodward who was in Sligo today in place of the acting American Ambassador.
Reece Smyth was due to visit the Yeats Summer School but he took ill and missed the trip.
Aleisha Woodward met with Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Cllr Seamus Kilgannon today.
She also met with the Head of the IT Brendan McCormack and will now visit Yeats Grave and Lissadell House.
And when probed on North West Today, Ms. Woodward revealed she would be surprised if the Vice President Mr. Pence who has close family connection with south Sligo did not make a visit here:
