Donegal postmaster says government is driving business away from post offices



A Donegal postmaster says the government needs to stop driving business away from post-offices.

Bríd Gallagher, an executive member of the Irish Postmasters Union, is outside the Department of Communications in Dublin where they are staging a protest today.

The IPU says the talks with government on the future of the network are at a standstill.

Members claim they have tried to engage with the Department on the recommendations of the Bobby Kerr report which include suggestions on network renewal and attracting new business.

However, Brid Gallagher says none of those recommendations have been put in place.

Speaking to Ocean FM News this lunchtime, Ms Gallagher had strong words for the Minister on what needs to be done to prevent post offices from closing:
