Over 300 people are on hospital trolleys today according to nurses.
The most overcrowded facility is University Hospital Limerick where 28 people are in the emergency department and overflow areas of wards.
According to the latest trolleywatch report 19 patients are waiting at Letterkenny University Hospital while just one person is on a trolley at Sligo University Hospital.
