Mohill edge ahead of Melvin Gaels in Leitrim Senior League



Mohill have overtaken Melvin Gaels at the top of the Dunnes Bar Leitrim Senior League on score difference.

The reigning league champions beat Fenagh/St Caillin’s by 3-18 to 1-8 last night, while the Kinlough side were held to a 1-9 apiece draw by St Mary’s at home.

Glencar/Manorhamilton suffered a 2-12 to 0-14 defeat to Aughnasheelin, while Ballinamore have pulled level on points with Aidan Rooney’s side went after drawing with Drumkeerin.

Dromahair have dropped to bottom of the table after a 3-16 to 1-12 defeat to Aughawillan, while Allen Gaels jumped to tenth after their defeat of Gortlettragh.

In Division Two, Ballinglera’s lead at the top has been cut to just a point after their 0-15 to 1-10 defeat to second-placed Leitrim Gaels.

Cloone have leapfrogged Annaduff into third after a 3-12 to 1-6 win at home, while Drumreilly have moved to fifth after a 3-11 to 1-16 defeat of Aughavas.

In hurling, Coolera/Strandhill beat Glencar/Manor by 4-15 to 2-13 in the Dermot Molloy League last night.

Elsewhere in Sligo, Tubbercurry/Cloonacool beat Naomh Eoin by 5-11 to 2-15 in the first round of the Minor Hurling Championship.

And Drumcliffe/Rosses Point reached the U16 Division Three football final after their 5-13 to 2-8 defeat of Owenmore Gaels.
