Sligo Cystic Fibrosis campaigner wins Connaught Mother of the Year



A Sligo woman who campaigned for the introduction of the Orkambi drug has scooped this year’s Connaught Mother of the Year.

Terri Golden, from Cartron in Sligo was named the Women’s Way/Beko Connaught Mother of the Year at a special reception held in Dublin last night.

Terri lost her daughter Grainne last year after her battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

Terri’s campaigning in the memory of her daughter played a driving role in the decision to introduce the Orkambi drug to CF patients in April. She was nominated for the award by fellow campaigners and activists in Sligo.
