New Cathaoirleach supports calls for council offices in the north of Leitrim

The new Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council has backed calls by her party colleague to provide council offices in the north of the county.

Fine Gael Councillor Frank Dolan told Ocean FM News last week that one of his priorities as Chairperson of the Manorhamilton Municipal District would be to oversee the provision of such offices in his district.

He said the distances people living in the north of the county had to travel to attend the council offices in Carrick-on-Shannon are too long.

Chairperson of Leitrim County Council, Fine Gael Councillor Finola Armstrong-McGuire agrees and says it would also mean that council staff would have an official meeting place in which to do business.
