Melvin Gaels go top as Mohill draw with Glencar/Manorhamilton



Melvin Gaels have gone top of the Leitrim Senior League.

A 1-10 to 1-8 defeat of county champions Aughawillan in Kinlough last night was enough to see them overtake Mohill.

The reigning league champions played out an entertaining 15 points apiece draw with third-placed Glencar/Manorhamilton last night, in what was the first competitive game played at the new pitch at Boggaun in Manorhamilton.

Elsewhere, Drumkeerin and Dromahair lost to Aughnasheelin and Gortlettragh respectively; St Mary’s beat Ballinamore; and Fenagh/St Caillin’s won the battle of the bottom two against Allen Gaels.

In Division Two leaders Ballinaglera beat Annaduff to go three points clear at the top.

Cloone have gone second after their defeat of Aughavas, while Drumreilly have climbed to fifth thanks to their defeat of Carrgallen.
