The inaugural Sligo City Sports event takes place at the running track at IT Sligo this evening.
The event will see international stars Ciara Mageean and Mark English attempt to set new Irish records as they continue preparations for August’s World Athletics Championships in London.
The evening will also feature the final of Sligo’s Ultimate Athlete competition, schools relays, paced 5,000m runs, field events including shot putt and long jump and an opportunity for athletes to run a mile with event ambassador Mary Cullen.
The evening is free-of-charge for spectators and the action is underway from 3.30pm with the schools programme and concludes with the graded elite 5,000m from 9pm.
