Rovers to offer discount to fans supporting both Sligo teams on Saturday

Sligo Rovers have announced they will offer a 20 per cent discount on admission to Saturday’s game against Galway United at the Showgrounds, to anyone that also attends Saturday’s All-Ireland Qualifier between Sligo and Antrim at Markievicz Park.

The GAA game gets underway from 5pm, with the Rovers match following at 7.45pm.

The Bit O’ Red are also hosting a family fun day at Saturday’s match, with a host of activities taking place for youngsters before kick-off.

Rovers warmed-up for their return to action following the mid-season break with an 8-2 victory against Sligo-Leitrim Junior League side Boyle Celtic last night.

Galway are currently bottom of the table, but just six points separate the bottom six teams in the table.

Ahead of the game, Galway have announced that former Rovers goalkeeper Ciaran Nugent has left the club.

The 25-year-old American netminder made just five appearances for the Tribesmen during his stay at Eamonn Deacy Park, having signed for Shane Keegan’s side at the start of the year.

Nugent spent last season at the Showgrounds with the Bit O’ Red, as reserve keeper behind Micheál Schlingermann.

Finn Harps are currently eighth in the table and on a three-game unbeaten run ahead of their return to action with a home game against Shamrock Rovers on Friday.
