Donegal’s Joe McHugh says he’s ‘in the dark as much as anyone else’ with regard to the new senior cabinet ministers being considered.
Speaking to Ocean FM, the Fine Gael Minister of State said he’s not holding his breath for the phone to ring and will respect Leo Varadkar’s choices.
Yesterday the new Fine Gael leader said that there are likely to be more ‘disappointments’ than ‘appointments’ as he will not be able to promote everyone who supported him.
Joe McHugh is being speculated as a possible contender but he says the election of Varadkar as Taoiseach is the first consideration and he will then respect whatever decisions the new leader makes:
