
Letterkenny University Hospital is the only hospital in the region to see a rise in numbers waiting for a trolley this afternoon.
However, accident and emergency departments in the West and North West remain busy today, with 50 patients waiting for a bed.
In Letterkenny, there are 25 people waiting on trolleys, a hike of nine from Tuesday’s figure of 16, while in Sligo University Hospital there are nine people waiting for a bed compared to yesterday’s total of fifteen.
In Galway University College Hospital, there are 16 people waiting on trolleys, a fall from yesterday’s total of 23.
Nationally, the figure stands at 366 compared to yesterday’s total of 345.
