Sligo County Council have applied for funding to improve safety at Ballymote secondary school

Sligo County Council has applied for funding to help increase safety at a secondary school in Ballymote.

Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Henry says the entrance to Colaiste Mhuire is too narrow and visibility is also severely reduced for cars coming out of the school.

At a recent Council meeting, Director of Services Tom Kilfeather confirmed that an application for CLÁR funding is being made to the Department of Arts, Heritage & Rural Affairs.

Cllr Henry says both staff and parents of students at the school have voiced concerns over the situation.
