Sligo winners at Ulster Bank League awards ceremony



Sligo had two winners at last night’s Ulster Bank League Awards ceremony at the Aviva Stadium.

Sligo RFC forward Kuba Wojtkowicz was named the player of the year for Division 2C of the All-Ireland League, and also won the Connacht player of the year in the league award.

Meanwhile, Sligo native Niall Kenneally was named the Division 1A player of the season after captaining Cork Con to a league and Bateman cup double.

In other news, Sligo’s opening fixtures for the 2017-2018 season have been confirmed.

Sligo will play three games in the Connacht Senior Cup before the start of the All-Ireland League.

Their first game is at home to Galwegians on Saturday, August 19, followed by a trip to face Buccaneers the following week.

Sligo’s third game is at home to Corinthians on Saturday, September 2.
