CIS CEO: New structure aimed to reduce boards not services to people



The CEO of the Citizens Information Board says that proposed changes to the organisation will affect the boards only.

Speaking ahead of an informational meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday on plans to ‘regionalise’ both CIS and MABS, Angela Black says the changes should not affect frontline services.

Managers at local offices have hit out at any threat to the current county by county structure.

However, Angela Black says the aim of the restructuring is to reduce the number of boards dramatically leaving one board for a region like Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan:
