Leitrim win Connacht junior title for first time in 13 years



Leitrim won the Connacht Junior Football Championship last night.

Seamus Quinn’s side claimed an impressive 1-16 to 0-16 win over Mayo in Charlestown.

James Gallagher’s first half goal proved crucial, as Leitrim claimed the title for the first time since 2004.

Sligo are set to name their team today for Sunday’s Connacht Senior quarter-final against Mayo.

The sides last met in the championship in 2015, when Mayo were comfortable winners in the final.
