We wish our senior club captain Neil Ewing the very best of luck as he leads Sligo out against Mayo in Sunday’s Connacht football championship quarter-final against Mayo in Castlebar (2pm). The match is live on radio (OceanFM) and TV (RTÉ2).

Well done to Sinéad Regan, Michelle McNamara, Rachel Monaghan and the Sligo ladies team who beat Leitrim in their Connacht Intermediate Championship opener last Sunday in Drumshanbo by 2-14 to 3-8. Sligo are now through to the final.

On the club front, our ladies intermediate footballers are away to Tourlestrane in Division 2 of the league this Sunday morning (21st) at 10am.

The men’s senior footballers put in a battling display in Gurteen against Eastern Harps in Group 2 of the Kiernan Cup on Saturday evening before going down on a final scoreline of 1-14 to 1-10.

Our junior men’s footballers made a winning start to their Division 4 campaign with a 4-9 to 0-9 success over St Farnan’s in Dromore West. We host St John’s on Saturday evening in Oxfield at 7:30pm.

Our girls U12 footballer had an exciting win over St Molaise Gaels last Thursday evening in Grange by 13pts to 11, to qualify for the ‘A’ quarter-finals. Three days later, In the last eight, they faced Tourlestrane and put in a battling display before going down by seven points.

Our boys U14 footballers were unlucky to lose to Ballymote/Bunninadden on Friday evening in Division 1 on a final scoreline of 4-11 to 6-7. The team travel to Connolly Park this Fridayevening to play Owenmore Gaels at 7 o’clock.

Hard luck to our boys U12 football teams who lost their midweek matches against two good St Mary’s teams. Our thanks to Ballymote who were the visitors to Oxfield on Wednesdayevening for a very enjoyable U8 & U10 football blitz. Special thanks to all the parents for their support and encouragement.
