Two men have died as a result of a fire in Sligo Town overnight.
It occurred some time before 5am this morning at Market Street in Sligo.
One man in his 60s and another in his 30s were taken to Sligo University Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
It’s believed they are from the same family.
The tragedy is believed to have occurred in a three-storey building in Market Street, just up from the well-known Lady Erin statue.
Gardai and fire service personnel remain at the scene this morning, which is cordoned off at present while a technical examination is taking place.
Investigations are continuing.
