Region gearing up for busy Easter travel weekend

This weekend is set to be one of the busiest travel times of the year as people take to the roads, rail and air to get to their destinations.

Gardai throughout the North West will be out in force to ensure a safe weekend for all.

It’s the first weekend that Gardai can also test for drugs as well as for drink driving and other offences.

People using rivers, lakes or other water facilities are also urged to be careful this weekend.

Meanwhile, 20,000 passengers are expected to pass through Ireland West Airport Knock making it one of the busiest times in the airport’s 31-year history.

Donal Healy, of Ireland West Airport Knock, told Ocean FM News what people can expect when travelling this weekend.
