Irish Water Tidy Towns Value Water Award applications closing on May 25th

Towns and Villages in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are urged to get their applications in for this year’s Irish Water Tidy Towns Value Water Awards before May 25th.

The award is in its second year and is given at the Tidy Towns ceremony in September along with the other Tidy Towns awards. It aims to raise awareness of water conservation and honours communities that do so with a total prize fund of €10,000 spilt amongst the winners.

There is a national prize of €2,000, four €1,000 regional prizes for Best Large Town and four €1,000 regional prizes for Best Small Town.

Irish Water says that doing things such as checking for leaks or installing rainwater collectors are effective ways for people to conserve water and reduce the amount of waste water.
