Sligo councillors discuss Development Plan until almost midnight



A meeting of Sligo County Council to discuss a new county development plan that began at 10 o’clock yesterday morning didn’t end until just before midnight last night.

The councillors discussed 176 submissions that were made in relation to the plan, and the council chief executive’s responses to them.

The draft plan, with proposed amendments, will now go out for public consultation for four weeks before coming before the councillors again for discussion.

The proposed new plan is to cover the years until 2023 and will be the blueprint for plannng and development in the county.
