Markievicz Bridge and Sligo City Hall turn purple for Purple Day

Markievicz Bridge and Sligo City Hall are showing their support for Purple Day today by turning purple.

Over 37,000 people in Ireland have epilepsy and Purple Day is held annually around the world to raise awareness about epilepsy. People are invited to wear purple and hold events in support of raising awareness about epilepsy.

Purple Day is the brainchild of Canadian girl, Cassidy Megan, who has struggled through epilepsy herself so knows the struggle people go through.

Epilepsy Ireland Communications Officer Conor Culkin told Ocean FM News what it’s all about.
