LYIT Student Union survey shows large number rely on Bus Eireann services

A survey of 100 LYIT Students taken in January by LYIT Student Union, shows that 62% use Bus Eireann services for getting to and from college.

The Union of Students in Ireland President, Annie Hoey, has joined in calling on Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, to intervene in the ongoing national strike.

Dylan McGowan, LYIT Student Union President, told Ocean FM News that private bus companies doubled their services on Friday to accommodate students. McGowan further said if Bus Eireann were to remove certain routes, it would affect a huge number of students.
