Visiting restrictions remain in place at LUH

Visiting restrictions remain in place at Letterkenny University Hospital for the second consecutive day due to an outbreak of the Norovirus.

The hospital has confirmed that maximum infection control precautions are in place.

In a statement Letterkenny University Hospital says that the vomiting bug is resolving in the wards already affected but new patients are presenting to the hospital with symptoms.

Hospital management would like to thank the public for their co-operation regarding not visiting and stress that members of the public who are experiencing vomiting symptoms should not visit the hospital.

It comes as 24 people wait on trolleys in the hospital according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

Today’s Trolley Watch report also shows 12 people on trolleys in Sligo’s Emergency Department.
