Sligo councillors support rail network link to Northern Ireland

Sligo county councillors have unanimously given their support to the idea of a rail network linking Northern Ireland with Sligo and Donegal.

The proposal was made at a council meeting by Independent Councillor Declan Bree.

He says it’s now accepted that rail has a huge role to play as an economic driver.

And he says that with the uncertainty of Brexit, using rail to link up with the north would send out the right message to both the UK and EU authorities.
