Ryan Casey takes over from Ciaran Kelly at Castlebar Celtic

Castlebar Celtic have announced the appointment of Ryan Casey as first team manager, replacing former Sligo Rovers goalkeeper Ciaran Kelly.

Casey previously worked as the FAI regional development officer for Sligo and has spent the last five years as Director of Coaching at US Development Academy Club Everton FC Westchester, based in Connecticut.

As a player, Galway native Casey was part of the Ireland U18 squad that won the UEFA European Championship in 1998, alongside the likes of Robbie Keane and Richard Dunne.

In a statement, the Mayo club thanked Ciaran Kelly for his work with the team.

“The club would like to thank Ciaran Kelly for his work with the club, over his 16-month tenure. Ciaran won the Connacht Gold Super Cup in 2016, as well as providing a new level of belief, determination and positivity to the first team and club. Ciaran is wished the best of luck with his future endeavours, from all at the club.”
