Completion of Sligo estate a challenge for Council

Sligo County Council says the completion of an unoccupied estate in Ballygawley could be difficult as the planning permission has expired.

The Local Authority confirmed at a recent Council meeting that it understands the estate, known as The Fairways, has been on the market for some time and may have been sold recently.

Director of Services Dorothy Clarke explained to Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy who raised the issue that no on-site wastewater treatment plant has ever been built.

However, she said the Council will seek clarification from the new owners on their plans for the estate.
