Sligo councillor calls for disadvantaged farmers to receive fair share of ANC funding

A Sligo councillor wants to see the appropriate funding going to farmers with disadvantaged land in the North West.

Sinn Fein’s Thomas Healy raised a motion at a meeting of Sligo county council earlier this week calling on the council to support farmers in their ongoing campaign regarding the current ANC scheme review.

A public meeting is taking place in the Bee Park Centre in Manorhamilton at 8pm tonight which will afford farmers the chance to air their concerns to local councillors, MEPs and TDs.

Thomas Healy says the funding needs to go where it is needed.
