Plans are being put in place for the development of a new county council office in Manorhamilton.
Municipal District meetings are currently held in the HSE building while the roads department for North Leitrim is also in the town.
At a meeting of the council this week a loan of €5 million was also approved for an extension to it’s civic offices in Carrick on Shannon.
The plan is to move a number of council departments from other offices into a centralised location at the council HQ.
Council Cathaoirleach Mary Bohan says since the closure of the council offices in Dromahair something new has been needed to service the North Leitrim area.
