North West MEP says mobile phone companies cannot breach new EU roaming charge laws.



A North West MEP says mobile phone companies in Ireland cannot breach new EU laws by limiting data for customers when they go abroad from this summer.

Marian Harkin says contrary to reports in some national newspapers in Ireland this week, there is no loophole that would allow mobile companies to breach the new roaming laws.

From the 15th of June roaming charges will be abolished and anyone travelling within the EU will be charged at the same rate for their bundles as at home.
