Bunninadden GAA Club Notes

Ballinalack Community Park update
The committee of the park is delighted to announce that funding to the value of €124,386.53 has been approved from Leader. This is  75% of the cost of the walkway. Work will begin on our much anticipated walkway on Monday the 27th February. While the entire committee have been working over many years to raise money and draw up plans for this walkway, special mention must be given to John O’ Flaherty for all his work and dedication.  Ably assisted by Brendan Gallagher and Richard Brennan who liaised with John throughout the application process. The commencement of work in the park will result in it been closed to the public during the construction phase. Play school traffic will be supervised during time of entrance and exit from the premises and for the duration work will cease on the site due to health and safety. We hope the patience of the local community during the construction of the walkway will be worthwhile when we unveil it later in the year.
Funding  received from CLAR prior to Christmas has allowed us to erect ball stop nets at the back of each goal on the GAA field. Poles are in position and nets will arrive in the coming weeks. Entrance to the park will be upgraded and the parking spaces will be lined, all under the CLAR scheme.
There will be no training for underage football in the pitch. A Text message will be sent informing all parents of arrangements.
On behalf of the club we would like to wish all involved in this weeks School’s Connaught A championship junior final the best of luck. To the three local club members we would like to take this opportunity to extend our support in this pivotal game in their football careers.
