The incredible waves and surfing conditions is why Strandhill has been named amongst the best to visit in Ireland according to a local businessman.
Strandhill beach was today named the fifth best in Ireland as part of a survey on tripadvisor-dot-ie.
Narin beach in Portnoo, Co. Donegal also made the list coming in at number 9.
Three of the top five beaches are in Co. Kerry with Inchydoney beach in Cork and Strandhill the others.
The Tripadvisor’s Travellers Choice awards combine ratings from people who travelled the country to form a picture of the best destinations.
Surfer and businessman Neil Byrne says it’s the uniqueness of the beach which makes it stand out.
