Short term future of West Sligo respite centre secured



The future of a west Sligo respite centre for people with dementia has been secured in the short-term.

The Home from Home project operates from a house in Kilglass and is supported by the Alzheimers Society.

Sligo Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy has been working with Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny to try and secure its future after it emerged that funding has become an issue.

It serves around 16 families in the local area.

Councillor Healy says the HSE has confirmed funding for the project for the next 6 months:
