McHugh: Relationship between UK and Ireland can withstand Brexit

The Minister of State for the Diaspora and Overseas Development says the relationship between Ireland and the UK is strong enough to withstand Brexit.

Donegal TD Joe McHugh is in London for a series of engagements with the Irish ex-pat and business communities.

He does not want to see a return to hard borders, which have been seen as a real possibility after reports of Revenue pinpointing possible custom border positions in recent weeks.

The Fine Gael TD says the business relationship along the border is as strong as anything else.
