Donegal TD says housing refugees better than more direct provision centres

A Donegal TD says its very important we all play our part in welcoming refugees from the Syrian conflict and from other conflicts around the world.

Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle was speaking after it emerged that Donegal County Council is working with the Office for the Promotion of Migrant Integration to resettle refugee families in the county.

During the next year and a half, about 30 families will be rehoused in the county.

The first group of 12 will come in late May to Buncrana and Carndonough.

Deputy Pringle says Donegal is housing families rather than individuals.
