Sligo’s Hawk’s Well Theatre gets half million euro in funding



Sligo’s main arts theatre has been awarded a funding boost of over half a million euro.

The Hawk’s Well Theatre in Sligo is getting €550,000 as part of the Creative Ireland programme, with funding provided under her Department’s Arts and Culture Capital Scheme.

South Donegal’s main arts centre will be able to undergo a significant refurbishment thanks to a new allocation of funding.

The Abbey Arts and Cultural Centre in Ballyshannon has been granted over €164,000 for a series of works.

The money will go towards refurbishing and upgrading the main theatre and reception area as well as investment in the sound and lighting equipment.
