Narrow wins for Sligo and Donegal, but Leitrim lose out – Reaction



Sligo and Donegal both managed one-point wins in the National League yesterday, but Leitrim lost out to Wexford.

Kilcar’s Eoin McHugh hit the winner for Donegal in their 16 points to 2-9 defeat of Roscommon in Dr Hyde Park.

Elsewhere in Division One, Cavan drew with Monaghan, Dublin drew with Tyrone and Mayo beat Kerry.

In Division Two, Fermanagh lost to Galway, and there were wins for Clare, Kildare and Meath.

Sligo survived a late Tipperary onslaught to emerge one-point winners in Thurles on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-16.

Laois beat Armagh, Louth beat Longford and Offaly defeated Antrim in the other Division Three matches.

In Division Four, Leitrim lost out by 16 points to 14 at home to Wexford.

There were also Division Four wins for London, Waterford and Westmeath.

The National Hurling League also got underway at the weekend.

Donegal were too strong for Louth in Letterkenny, while Sligo lost by a point to Warwickshire in Birmingham.
