St. Patrick’s day meeting could clarify Trump’s position on Irish immigrants



A Donegal campaigner says it’s up to the Taoiseach to stress the importance of the Undocumented Irish to the new US President on his visit in March.

Donald Trump’s press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed yesterday that an invite has been extended to Enda Kenny to come to Washington for the annual St. Patrick’s day celebrations at the White House again this year.

However, concern over Mr. Trump’s immigration policies were heightened yesterday when he signed an executive order to go ahead with his plans to build a controversial wall along the Mexican border.

Chairperson of the Families of the Undocumented Irish, former Bundoran Town Councillor Mick McMahon, says while his position on the issue remains unclear, people are worried.
