Donegal Association of New York says people remain divided on Trump

With just hours to go until the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, Ocean FM News has been speaking to people at home and in the US about the move.

The Vice-President of the Donegal Association of New York says opinion remains deeply divided on the Trump administration.

Speaking to Ocean FM News from New York today, Rosina Gallagher who is originally from Gweedore but who has been living in the United States for over 25 years says there is very much a sense of ‘wait and see’.

She says that Irish Americans main concern is about the future of the undocumented Irish.

However, she says they too are divided on Donald Trump but she says the feeling is similar to what we are seeing happening in politics in Ireland and England – people want a change:

Meanwhile, Ocean FM News reporter Mike Kelly was on the streets of Sligo earlier to gauge the mood there.

These people told him if they will be watching the inauguration later today.
