Department confirms case of BSE in Galway



The Department of Agriculture says there’s no risk to public health from the latest BSE case.

An 18-year-old cow died on a farm in Galway from the illness also known as Mad Cow disease.

The Atypical strain was caught by tests carried out over the weekend.

But Margaret Donnelly, the editor of Farm Ireland-dot-ie, says this particular strain of BSE isn’t dangerous:
