Calls for west of Ireland passport office to be located in Tubbercurry

A South Sligo councillor wants to see a new passport office for the west of Ireland — and he wants it in Tubbercurry.

Fianna Fail Councillor Jerry Lundy raised the motion at a meeting of the Tubbercurry/Ballymote municipal district yesterday.

Councillor Lundy says up to a million people could benefit from the opening of an office here.

There are currently three passport offices in Ireland, two in Dublin and one in Cork.

Speaking to Ocean FM councillor Lundy says there is a massive catchment area to avail of a passport office in South Sligo
