41 waiting for a bed in North West Hospitals



41 people are waiting for a hospital bed in the North West today.

Trolley Watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organsation show that 31 of those are on trolleys in Letterkenny University Hospital.

That’s the second highest number of any hospital in the country alongside University Hospital Limerick and the Midland Regional in Portlaoise.

A further 10 patients are waiting for a bed in the Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital.

There are 417 people waiting on trolleys in hospitals nationwide according to the INMO with the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar the worst affected.
