Wind warning in effect for region



Met Eireann has issue a Wind Warning for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

It says west to northwest winds could reach 55 to 65 km/h, giving gusts between 90 and 110 km/h.

Winds will be strongest in exposed coastal and hilly areas.

The warning is in effect until 10 o clock this morning.

And although it’s windy throughout the North West this morning, no major incident have been reported.

Branches have been blown on some roads.

In Donegal, the Harry Blaney Bridge over Mulroy Bay, Letterkenny, is closed due to forecasted high winds.

A tree is down outside the village of Ballintogher, Co Sligo, on the road to Manorhamilton and the county council has been notified.

Sligo County Council says it is monitoring the weather situation.
