Call for street signs to be erected in Ballymote

A Sligo county councillor is calling for signs with street names be erected in Ballymote.

Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Henry says the absence of such signs has been commented on in tidy towns reports.

Council Director of Services Tom Kilfeather says if signs are to be erected on buildings, permission will have to be obtained from the building owners.

However, he says there is no funding for this at present.

But Cllr Henry says he’s only looking for the same signs as are already in Sligo and Tubbercurry.
